The five best features of Dunlop’s rear Geomax AT82 off-road motorcycle tire.

Hardcore off-road riders rejoice—Dunlop Motorcycle Tires has something special for us in the form of its Geomax AT82 off-road tire. The AT82 replaces the American tire brand’s AT81 which was OE fitment on a variety of dirt bikes, including Honda’s CRF250RX. We recently tested the rear tire (120/90-18) on a Honda CRF450RL dual sport. Here are the top five features of Dunlop’s new Geomax AT82 off-road rear tire:

  1. The profile of this tire is narrower and more tall, which boosts traction when you’re cornering.
  2. These knobbies have been reinforced so they deform less under high load/throttle application.
  3. The carcass has been redesigned so it absorbs bumps better and disperses load more evenly across the surface area of the tire.
  4. This tire is now bidirectional so you can flip it. Right now we have it in soft terrain mode, but you can flip it and put it in hard terrain configuration just by swapping the rotation of the tire.
  5. Lastly, the Geomax AT82 is now available in both 18- and 19-inch rear wheel sizes.
