When the mercury is on the rise, riding your motorcycle can become pretty uncomfortable. But here at Motorcyclist we say we'd rather sweat than bleed (that means ATGATT!), so when Alpinestars sent over information about its new vented riding apparel we figured it was worth sharing. Perforated and/or vented gear like the Devon Airflow jacket, Stella Devon Airflow jacket, and SPX Air Carbon gloves help make riding in hot weather much more bearable. Read on to learn more.

Devon Airflow Leather Jacket©Motorcyclist

DEVON AIRFLOW LEATHER JACKET
The black-leather jacket is standard equipment for most motorcyclists, but it starts to seem like a bad idea when the sun is beating down on you! The new Devon Airflow jacket takes the classic black-leather jacket and makes it a little more hot-weather worthy by perforating the chest and back panels and adding breathable stretch panels to the insides of the arms. There's CE-approved armor at the elbows and shoulders and pockets to accept more armor at the chest and back. All-black not your thing? There's a version with white accents ass well. Both versions sell for $490.

SPX AIR CARBON GLOVES
Full-gauntlet gloves getting you down when the weather is hot? The new SPX Air gloves were designed to offer maximum airflow, comfort, and protection during steamy summer months. They've got a leather and 3D-mesh chassis that flows lots of air, and the short-cuff design means more air makes it up your jacket sleeves! Pre-curved fingers with touchscreen-friendly fingertips and strategically placed stretch panels offer around-town comfort, while carbon-fiber knuckle armor, palm armor, and an extended ulna-bone cover provide the protection you need. Available in black, red, hi-viz, and white for $100.

Stella Devon Airflow Leather Jacket©Motorcyclist

STELLA DEVON AIRFLOW LEATHER JACKET
Just like the men's Devon Airflow jacket, except sized and cut for a woman's figure. The Stella Airflow is made form the same 1.1mm leather, with extensive perforation down the chest and back, 3D mesh panels, and the same breathable stretch material stitched in along the inside of the arms and extending to the front and back of the shoulders. As on the men's version there's CE-approved shoulder and elbow armor and the option to slip in additional back and chest armor. If solid black isn't feminine enough for you, the Stella Devon can be had with subtle black and pink accents. Pricing is the same as the men's version at $490.
