Wandrd Prvke Roll-Top Backpack Review

A pack fit for a moto-journalist

Like the Chrome Industries Moto Barrage, the Wandrd Prvke is made of tarpaulin and nylon for durability, and also like the Chrome entry, that material is not reflective. The Prvke caters to wanderlusting photographers with a side zipper that provides quick access to a good-size camera lens. If you aren't the type to get in touch with your photo skills, this large pocket can also house an extra layer of clothing or other needed items.

Another nice travel touch is the passport pocket located on the lower back panel. Your mind will be at ease knowing that your passport and cash are secure, but your back may disagree because the zipper digs into your spine, especially if you are hunched over and wearing a thinner jacket. A coworker, however, wore a thicker jacket and didn’t notice any discomfort.

The side pocket can be useful for storing your camera gear, but the optional camera cube accessory is recommended to protect your gear.Jeff Allen

Your laptop goes in another zippered panel, which makes accessing it easier than unfurling the roll-top, and is secured by a heavy-duty hook. While the hook gets the job done, Wandrd went further by adding (a lot of) Velcro. Nice idea, but it really is too much of a good thing.

The main compartment has a good amount of storage, but holes in the liners allow for little items to tunnel into the lower compartment. One of my keys fell off of my lanyard and through the gap in the liners. I later found the key at the bottom of the bag. Those holes are part of a removable base that separates the two compartments. Maybe future designs will replace the Velcro with a zipper.
