2020 Triumph Tiger Alpine And Desert Edition Preview

These two Triumph Tiger motorcycles will make your adventure heart purr.

Triumph has just released a pair of special-edition Tiger 1200 models that combine their own unique livery with electronically adjustable semi-active suspension, quickshifter, and an Arrow exhaust system for just $400 more than the base-model Triumph Tiger 1200 XRx (Alpine) and XCx (Desert). The Tiger Desert Edition is also equipped with spoked wheels and knobby tires for improved off-road capability.

2020 Triumph 1200 Desert Edition and 2020 Triumph Tiger Alpine Edition models combine the awesome array of technical advances that ADV riders demand with the special livery that captures the essence of each bike’s adventure heritage.Triumph

The 2020 Triumph 1200 Desert Edition features a Sandstorm paint scheme and graphics that are intended to capture the spirit of riding in the great desert expanses of the world. Meanwhile the 2020 Triumph Tiger Alpine Edition is slathered in Snowdonia White paint that draws inspiration from the tight and winding mountain roads between here and your favorite riding destinations.

Beneath the cool livery and up-spec suspension is the same Tiger 1200 that is a more than capable adventure bike in any of Triumph’s available trim options. The trellis-style steel frame houses the trademark liquid-cooled 1,213cc triple (139 hp at 9,350 rpm/90 pound-feet at 7,600 rpm) that puts power to the ground via shaft drive along with top-shelf suspension and braking components on both ends. An ESA-equipped 48mm WP fork and WP monoshock take care of the suspension duties while braking is handled by ABS-equipped dual radial-mount, four-piston Brembo calipers that work with 305mm rotors in the front and a 282mm disc with a two-piston Nissin caliper in the rear.

The 2020 Triumph Tiger Alpine Edition differs from the Desert thanks to the Snowdonia White paint job, street-oriented tires, and cast aluminum wheels.Triumph

Add into the mix the already impressive electronics package that all these Tiger models are equipped with and it’s difficult not to get a little excited about these bikes. Cornering ABS, traction control, five ride modes and the new full-color TFT instrumentation, all-LED lighting—you can see why these adventure bikes are gaining popularity among ADV riders looking for an alternative style that Triumph is bringing to the table.
