Although untouched since its last major overhaul in 2009—including a significant bump in displacement (1,198cc to 1,679cc) and a completely redesigned chassis—the 2020 Yamaha VMAX is proof of serious capability in an unassuming package. As for updates to the 2020 model? A blacked-out Raven Black paint scheme.

Although no engine updates were made for 2020, the 2010 test bike was put on Cycle World’s rearwheel dyno and produced 173.9 hp at 9,000 rpm and 112.8 pound-feet of torque 6,600 rpm. We’re thinking that is enough tire-smearing power for the canyon roads or the dragstrip. Don’t you?
