2018 Ducati Scrambler Full ThrottleCRS

Meet the two raciest Scrambler designs, the Full Throttle and the Café Racer. The Full Throttle is inspired by the born-again sport of flat-track racing, and maybe Super Hooligan Racing in particular. While a competition-type, twin-outlet Termignoni exhaust system plugs into the 803cc, 73-hp V-twin engine, most of the Full Throttle’s other changes are cosmetic in nature. These include foreshortened front and rear fenders, a low-rise handlebar (cleverly adjustable for width), a lightly pocketed dual seat, black and yellow bodywork with a checkered-flag motif, faux number plates painted onto the seat cowl, and black finishes throughout.

The Scrambler Café Racer is a bit more of a departure in part because motorcycling’s “scrambler” and “café racer” idioms are actually incongruous (the former is dirt- and the latter is road-focused). But never mind. The Scrambler Café Racer forges ahead anyway, with elegant black finishes reminiscent of the postwar AJS 7R production roadracer. Unique parts include a slender fly screen, a low-rise handlebar with bar-end mirrors, side number plates, a kicked-up bum-stop seat, and Pirelli Diablo sport radials.
