Another Callahan Creation

Most motorcyclists would be content with having the only Fusion White Triumph Daytona 675 in existence. Not Jim Callahan. Proving he's capable of doing more than dialing the phone number to the British factory's paint shop, the Triumph North America Marketing Manager built the racebike shown here himself.

"This Daytona 955i started out as one of the bikes ridden by the actor/rapper, Ice Cube, featured in the movie Torque," Callahan wrote on May 26. "After the movie, the bike was shipped back here (to Triumph headquarters in Newnan, Georgia) where it remained under a tarp for several years before finally being pushed into the dumpster as a piece of scrap. I rescued the bike from the crusher and have slowly rebuilt it as time has allowed over the past two years. We fired her off today."

Nice to see something good came out of that dreadful movie!

An experienced racer, Callahan plans to compete in the July Fourth WERA races at Road Atlanta and then in the July 28-30 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio. Keep an eye-or an ear-peeled for the howling black triple in the Sound of Thunder races if you're there.
