Available as a red or silver scooter, the 2009 Hyosung Sense’s suffix is partly inspired by its engine displacement, which is measured at 49 cubic centimeters. (It is rounded up to 50.) The engine that powers the 2009 Sense is a two-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder that pumps out 3.5 horsepower at 7,000 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 2.8 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 RPM. It uses a reed intake valve train, and has a bore and stroke of 1.61 x 1.47 inches (41 x 37.4 millimeters) and 7.2-to-1 compression ratio. Fueling the engine is a 14-inch Mikuni carburetor. Hyosung provides an electric and kick starter on the scooter for ignition.
