Important Showcase for Sidi at the Milan Show

More than half a million visitors to the International Motorcycle Show

Some important numbers have come in from the 2011 edition of the International Motorcycle Show in Milan, which took place from November 8th to the 13th with 1174 exhibitors coming from all over the world, spread out over 7 pavilions. Overall, the Milan received more than 500 thousand visitors. The event was definitely a success, as confirmed by the organisers, with a 20% increase in the attending public compared to last year.

"Definitely, once again this year our participation in the Milan Show was a very positive experience," comments Rosella Signori. "The show is certainly an important occasion to consolidate existing business ties and to make new contacts on a national and international level. Milan is a major event for all two-wheel enthusiasts, as shown by the impressive numbers of fans who visited our stand for the chance to get a close-up look at products from the Sidi collection, including all the latest from our 2012 catalogue, as well as the chance to meet our champions."

The new collection. Sidi introduced some new trends, including new appealing colour schemes in fluorescent black/yellow in the Crossfire SR. The Tour Gore, Tour Rain, Traffic Rain, Traffic Air, Street and Apex boots were introduced for the Touring sector. There was also ample space dedicated to the growing women's market with the new Fusion and Livia Rain models and a new, black/white colour scheme for the Vertigo Lei boot.

In addition to all the new items in the 2012 catalogue, the public could also admire and appreciate some special editions from the Sidi collection, like the gold Crossfire boot which Tony Cairoli wore to the top of the championship podium this year, the "Cairoli replica" version of the Crossfire model used by the very same motocross super champion, and then the black and gold Sidi Vortice commemorative boot to mark the 50th anniversary of Sidi's history which was worn by all the riders in the MotoGP for the 2010 Qatar GP, and the Vortice "Colin Edwards replica" boot, coloured in the stars and stripes in dedication to the American rider, a veritable collector's item that was introduced to the Italian market in a special limited edition.

Sidi champions. Plenty of stars from Sidi visited the booth during the expo, to the delight of all the fans and enthusiasts present who were eager to meet their champions and pose for pictures with them. Without a doubt the most popular was MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli, who was inundated with requests for photos and autographs. He threw 500 Sidi commemorative t-shirts into the crowd to mark the occasion and they went like hotcakes. There was also a succession of Moto GP riders on hand at the Sidi stand to meet and greet the fans, including Loris Capirossi, who has just wrapped up his brilliant career, Alvaro Bautista and the trial ace Adam Raga. And there weren't just riders...in fact, three-time World Cycling Champion Oscar Freire paid Sidi a visit, as did the Italian women's road and time trial champion Noemi Cantele, both huge motorcycle and motor buffs who have been spokespersons for the company in the cycling sector for years.
