As the final round of the MotoAmerica championship gets underway at New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend, fans might notice one machine is slightly more patriotic than the others. The #RideHVMC Freeman Racing Ducati Panigale R of Corey Alexander is painted in FDNY colors to honor the members of the Fire Department of the City of New York. The team is based in New York, and when they learned that the final race day would land on September 11 they acted right away. "This year, when we realized the dates aligned and race day fell on the 11th," said Alexander, "we felt it was absolutely necessary to do something to really honor the brave men and women of the FDNY"

To match the fire-truck livery, Alexander will wear a special set of Spidi leathers, designed to look like the typical kit that the FDNY wears in the field. With any luck Alexander won't be fighting any literal fires during this final MotoAmerica round of 2016. In addition to honoring New York’s bravest, kids everywhere will probably think this Panigale is the best Ducati yet. It doesn’t get much cooler than a superbike painted like a fire truck.©Motorcyclist
