The 2009 Suzuki TU250 is the Japanese manufacturer’s entry-level motorcycle. Styled as a cruiser, the Suzuki TU250 is aimed right at the American mark, where cruisers have long been the most popular motorcycles. Similar to the single-cylinder motorcycles of the 1960s, the Suzuki TU250 nurtures the same qualities of simplicity, great fuel economy, and easy riding. As with the engine, the transmission is designed to be forgiving and user-friendly.

A steel tubular frame forms the basis of a simple and functional chassis. To keep costs down and make the TU250 available at a great price, Suzuki opted to go with a telescopic coil spring suspension in the front, with a swing-arm coil spring in the rear. While this configuration provides good stability for a beginner, the suspension doesn’t soak up bumps in the road as well as modern high-spec suspension systems. A 275mm dual-piston disc brake on the front wheel ensures reliable stopping. With a drum brake equipped on the rear wheel, Suzuki continues the theme of user-friendliness, as the drum is unlikely to cause unwanted skidding.

The ergonomics on the 2009 Suzuki TU250 complement the other design choices. The comfortable flat seat and short handlebar results in a natUral, upright riding position that serves beginning riders well. Seat height is just over 30 inches, making the bike ideal for most people except very tall riders, or people with a very long inseam. Suzuki keeps the console simple, with a classic looking round speedometer/odometer with fuel warning lights set near the ignition switch. The 3.2-gallon tank, combined with the excellent fuel economy, makes the TU250 a great commuter bike. The chrome parts and simple design ensure the Suzuki TU250 will be easy to maintain for novices.
