2008 Vespa GTS Review

The first Vespa scooters were introduced in the 1940s after the war, as a way for ordinary people to be mobile. Thus, they were designed with both function and style in mind. Over the past years, a number of models were released by Piaggio in order to satisfy every user’s riding needs and taste. This paved the way for Piaggio’s 2008 Vespa GTS.

The 2008 Vespa GTS offers riders three distinct external body styles, including the GTS 300, GTS 300 Super, and GTS 300 Sport. These three designs provide the same power and speed, but feature different external structures and detailing that embody different characteristics. The GTS 300 features the classic Vespa design. It successfully combines excellent performance with outstanding technological features. This scooter maintains most of Vespa’s signature details, including its cowls with unique lines and accents, a round and sloping headlight at the front, and a foldable footrest for the passenger. The Vespa GTS 300 also features the original monocoque structure that is made from steel. This provides riders with a sturdier and more reliable vehicle that offers a more precise and comfortable experience. The scooter also offers an easy upright position for both the rider and passenger. The padded leather seats are comfortable and provide adequate support for longer travel. The scooter stays true to Vespa’s goal of providing riders with maximum comfort and control while on the road. The 2008 Vespa GTS 300 can also be purchased in two colors: Midnight Blue and Bronze.

The 2008 Vespa GTS 300 Super offers the same speed and power as the 300, but features more sophisticated body work. This scooter defines itself through its front leg shield that features chrome and grill accents. It has red racing stripes on its suspension and alloy wheels with two colors. These details provide the GTS Super with a more retro design that resembles traditional models in the 1960s and 70s. Riders have the option of two exterior colors, Montebianco White and Dragon Red, both of which lend the GTS Super the retro-yet-fierce look. This model embraces Vespa’s signature vintage and sporty appearance while providing reliability and comfort. It features a high torque level with 16.4 lb-ft at a low speed of 5,250 revolutions per minute. The scooter also provides good traction at any speed in order to allow riders to cruise at different road conditions and in traffic.

Another design option that the Vespa GTS lineup offers is the Sport Special Edition. The Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport SE offers a great combination of performance and style. This model features an edgy and sporty look that resembles the 1955 Vespa GS 150 and 1965 Vespa 180. The scooter has a vintage style but carries excellent power with its 278 cubic centimeter engine. It features additional accents with satin black finish rounds that leave the scooter with a more modern and masculine appearance. It also has a windshield with Vespa’s original design accents while embracing a few modifications. The recent model has horizontal slots on its large grill that further enhances its modern styling. However, the Super Sport Edition still carries Vespa’s traditional monocoque framework that provides the scoter with more rigidity and durability while ergonomically providing a precise ride. This model is offered in a satin black finish that makes the scooter look even more edgy.

All Vespa GTS 300 models may have distinctive body work, but they all feature the same performance. They contain a powerful 278 cubic centimeter single cylinder engine that gives out more speed than many other scooters. The bikes offer the maximum power of 15.8 kilowatts at 21.1 horsepower. They also provide a maximum torque of 16.4 lb-ft to offer riders the highest speed of 80 miles per hour.

The 2008 Vespa GTS 300, Super, and Super Sport are great scooters both for the open road and city riding. They provide riders with superb design and function while keeping the original Vespa detailing spirit. The scooters are also suitable for new riders and enthusiasts as they provide good control and handling.
