The Rayce Team Sets Land Speed Records at Bonneville

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, October 14, 2010 – The Rayce Team set two motorcycle land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats World Finals held October 6-9. Captain Rick Dorfmeyer shattered a 24 year old record of 180.7 with an average speed of 194.3 mph and Crew Chief Tim Halsmer beat the previous record of 180 mph with a speed of 185.1 mph. Both men were riding a special built Honda CBR 600RR designed and constructed by crew chief Tim Halsmer and the Rayce Team.

Rayce and Julee Guthrie, from Bloomington Power Sports are owners of The Rayce Team, whose members have been pursuing this dream for the past four years and have dubbed their endeavor “Project 212.” Team members include Dorfmeyer, Halsmer, Engineer Steve Lewis, Data Acquisitioin Specialist Jeramy Clouse, Logistics Expert Chris Baker, Image Development Specialist Doug Sholty, Apparel and Merchandising Manager Toni Sholty, Accountant Lynda Campbell, and Chaplain Tom Nelson. The closely knit team achieved these records despite challenging rainy and windy weather conditions.
