Elena Myers Signs with Triumph to Race Daytona 675R

Job security is a wonderful thing. Now Elena Myers, the 19-year-old  "pioneer in the sport of motorcycle road racing," has some thanks to a new two-year contract to race the Castrol-Apex-Triumph in the AMA GoPro Daytona SportBike Series.

Myers will be racing the all-new Triumph Daytona 675R, which features a redesigned engine and chassis and is now available at dealers throughout North America. (Our man Ari Henning is now officially jealous, as the new Daytona is probably his favorite new bike.)

"After a great couple of race weekends with Triumph and the Sportbike Track Time team at Daytona and Road America, I’m so happy to officially be a part of the Triumph family,” said Myers. “Everyone at Triumph has been so awesome to work with and I can't say enough about the bike. I'm really looking forward to continuing to develop this bike and to get the 2013 675R on the podium."

“Elena is one of the best riders in the country and we’re honored to have her on our team,” said team owner and crew chief Richard Harris. “We have a lot of positive momentum coming off Daytona and Road America, and we’re looking forward to an exciting season.”

Myers and the Castrol-Apex-Triumph team will be back in action at the Triumph SuperBike Classic, June 21-23 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. The GoPro Daytona Sport Bike Race #1 will be aired live on CBS Sports Network at 3:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 22.
