Kawasaki ZX-10R: Light & Strong!

We have been playing with Kawasaki newest superbike. The numbers offer some idea of what the seat of your pants can expect.

Might as well use the front brake hard during stops or the front tire will never wear out.Motorcyclist

We have begun wringing out the 2004 Kawasaki ZX-10R (or perhaps it would be more accurate to say it has been wringing us out). Here are a few hard numbers to pique your interest and whet your appetite for Kawasaki's latest missile.

Full of fuel it weighs only 433 pounds on our scales. And it made 161.9 horsepower at the rear wheel on our dyno.

In other words, the new Kawasaki ZX-10R weighs over 100 pounds less than either the Suzuki Hayabusa or Kawasaki's ZX-12R, and makes more horsepower that either one.

Better have your shoulder sockets checked for integrity before you goose one of these things or risk having your arms ripped right off. Watch for the details in Motorcyclist.
