Jake Holden to Race in Place of Injured Pat Clark Motorsports Rider Ben Bostrom

Las Vegas, Nevada (MMD Newswire) September 23, 2010 -- Pat Clark Motorsports rider Ben Bostrom, who recently won both the poll and the race at the 7th round of the 2010 AMA Superbike season at Laguna Seca, will be unable to ride in the upcoming Superbike Classic at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama due to injuries sustained on Labor Day weekend at the New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Racing in Bostrom's place will be veteran rider Jake Holden, who finished 4th at Laguna Seca and 5th in Race 2 at this year's Road America in American Superbike. Holden turned Pro in 1999 and has competed regularly in AMA Pro Superbike and Superstock since 2000. Over the past ten years, he has turned in consistently outstanding results.

Bostrom, who was going into Barber with an impressive 4th place ranking, broke ribs four and at the AMA Superbike race in Millville, New Jersey. Bostrom had hoped to recover in time to compete in Birmingham, but decided against doing so after attempting to ride his R1 street bike on Tuesday. Had he been able to race, Bostrom had an excellent chance of getting into the top three. Bostrom was very pleased with the decision to send Holden to Barber in his place. Bostrom said, "Holden is a master at Barber and Laguna. I think he will really do the team justice."

Riding with Holden on the Pat Clark Motorsports team will be Chris Clark, who is currently in 10th position and hoping to retain that ranking going into the 2011 season. Team Manager, Ron Heben, remains very optimistic about the upcoming race. "Losing Ben this late in the season is a very tough break, but we've had a very good year and we believe that Jake Holden is an exceptional rider who has everything that it takes to help us finish strong. Ben's injuries could have been a lot worse, but there's no question that Ben and Chris will go into the 2011 season with tremendous momentum behind them."
