Confederate Hellcat X132 Speedster | WILD FILE

A Feral New Feline from Alabama

Birmingham, Alabama, firm Confederate raised more than a few eyebrows last year when it signed former Ducati Design Director Pierre Terblanche (see Pierre Terblanche Joins Confederate) to pen its next offering. The result of this collaboration can safely be called more of the same—but better. The new Speedster is essentially a leaner, meaner rendition of the company's previously released X132, but don't just call it a restyle. "From the front fender all the way to the rear tag bracket, this is essentially an all-new motorcycle," Terblanche says.

The ultra-minimalist, hot-rod mentality of the Confederate brand is alive and well in this new version of the X132, though what appears to be forward-mounted footpegs suggest this Hellcat will lean a little more toward a cruiser riding position. Still, exotic materials throughout and a beefy, 240-section (Ducati Diavel-size) rear tire emphasize performance. And if the 2,163cc V-twin (132 cubic inches, hence the name) has anything to say about it, expect the Speedster to live up to its name. Production will be limited to 65 units, so get in line now, and get a $69,500 check ready too.
