2011 Zero XU Review

Intro

Innovative, lightweight, and, most importantly, electric, the brand new 2011 Zero XU blends industry-leading technology, performance, and practicality to deliver the ultimate urban-crosser. A low seat height, no-shift operation, removable power pack, and optional onboard storage allow riders of all kinds to negotiate the city with a new kind of freedom.

Twist the throttle, relax, and leisurely wind your way from one destination to the next. Or, hop curbs, fly around corners and cut through traffic. Designed for utility and pure enjoyment, the Zero XU transforms the city into a motorcycle amusement park. Sure, it might be designed to perform on the day-to-day basis, but if you’re one that wants to push the limits, go right ahead.

The biggest feature of the Zero XU is the removable power pack. With a removable power pack, XU owners have more options for where to charge their batteries, instead of being confined to leaving the battery in the motorcycle while it charges. It’s lightweight and punchy, making it a fun bike to ride around town, and if that’s the case, you’re going to have to get used to charging it, seeing as the bike only gets an estimated 25 miles of riding per charge. Since the battery pack is removable, it is much easier than lugging your whole bike into the office to recharge after a commute, making this the electric bike for any environmentalist to own.
