2005 BMW K Review

The BMW 2005 K series consist of a lineup of high-performance sport, sport-touring, and standard motorbikes. The K 1200 R is the standard motorbike in the series, the K 1200 S and K 1200 RS are sport motorbikes, and the K 1200 GT and the K 1200 LT are sport touring motorbikes. The price range for these BMW motorbikes is from around $14,300 for the 2005 K 1200 R standard model up to around $19,950 for the K 1200 LT sport-touring model. The engines for these motorbikes are liquid-cooled and have four valves per cylinder.

The 2005 BMW K 1200 RS and the K 1200 GT both have engines that produce around 130 horsepower (hp) at 8,750 RPM and 85 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque at 6,750 RPM. The K 1200 S produces around167 hp and 96 lb-ft of torque, and the K 1200 R produces around 163 hp at 10,250 RPM and 93.6 lb-ft of torque at 8,250 RPM. The sport-touring K 1200 LT model has an engine that produces around 116 hp at 8,000 RPM and 86 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 RPM. Premium gas is recommended for all the 2005 BMW K series of motorbikes.

The wheels, frame, and rear suspension of the BMW K 1200 motorbikes are all made of aluminum. The K 1200 R and K 1200 S motorbikes are around 7.3 feet long and 33.7 inches wide. The top speed for the 2005 BMW K 1200 R is around 136 miles per hour, and the top speed for the 2005 K 1200 S is around 124.3 miles per hour. The K 1200 RS and K 1200 GT are around 7.38 feet long, 33.5 inches wide, and have around 4.9 inches of ground clearance. All of the 2005 BMW K 1200 motorbikes come equipped with a one-piece vinyl seat that is designed to hold two riders.

The 2005 BMW K 1200 motorbikes come with foot pegs for both riders as well. The dashboard comes equipped with digital instrumentation, a standard speedometer, a trip odometer, and a tachometer. The 2005 K 1200 motorbikes also have standard features like the engine immobilizer, a power outlet, and adjustable levers. The K 1200 RS models also have additional features like a height-adjustable windshield, heated hand grips, cruise control, adjustable handlebars and levers, and side storage mounts. The 2005 K 1200 GT has other additional features including a rear rack, storage on both sides, and a compartment under the seat. The K 1200 LT sport-touring model has the most features, and is around 8.2 feet long, 42.5 inches wide, and has around 3.5 inches of ground clearance.
