SPIED! 2014 Honda CTX1300

Caught in a photo shoot on public streets is Honda's new addition to the CTX lineup, likely to be a 2014 model. With styling from the existing CTX machines and an engine that appears to be based on the long-running ST1300's longitudinal V-4, the new model appears to slot in nicely between the 670cc machine and the Gold Wing-based F6B.

Clearly shown in these spy photos are the integrated, removable hard bags, linked braking (though it looks like this model does not have ABS), sound system, and shaft final drive. The machine seen on the photo mission has clutch and shift levers, and since we’re unaware of development of a DCT-style transmission for the V-4, it’s possible a manual trans is the only way it’ll be delivered.

Honda has a press conference scheduled in a little more than a week, where we expect to learn more about this machine.
