On Two Wheels: Honda Grom & Kawasaki Z125 Pro Take on San Francisco

Riding from Dusk to Dawn in the City by the Bay

The idea behind riding a Honda Grom and a Kawasaki Z125 through San Francisco didn’t actually come about as a way to pit one 125cc bike against another. The guys wanted to explore San Francisco, and when they tried to think about the perfect bike for the job, these two were at the front of their minds. After all, if you’re going to bomb around a city, what better way than with 125cc and 225 pounds of machine?

Skeptics will say these two are too slow to have fun, but think of it this way: You ride everywhere as fast as you can! Who cares if it’s only 50mph? It turned out the real struggle was packing enough stuff into one night. Ari and Zack bombed across the Golden Gate Bridge, following the waterfront through Fisherman’s Wharf to AT&T Park, then wandered around the city, from Lombard Street to the Haight, before climbing Twin Peaks to watch the sun rise.

What the boys learn, as always, is that being on two wheels is fun. What they learned this time is that being on two wheels can be cold, and also the amount of horsepower doesn’t really matter, especially when exploring a city.
