Ducati North America Reports Nine Consecutive Quarters of Retail Sales Growth

Things are looking good for the upper end of the motorcycle market with the recent announcements from BMW Motorrad of record monthly sales figures. Now Ducati North America is reporting nine consecutive quarters of retail sales growth, crediting the Diavel and Panigale as major factors.

According to Ducati, its North American sales were up 24 percent in the third quarter compared to a year earlier, and sales in September outstripped the numbers from 2011 by a whopping 40 percent.

“We have paid very close attention to the desires of our customers in North America and believe that we have successfully developed the most appealing product offering in the brand’s history,” said Cristiano Silei, CEO of Ducati North America. “With this consistent, positive momentum in retail sales, we are confident that 2012 will finish as a record year for Ducati. And, we look forward to a great start for 2013, with the recent announcement of several new models.”

Ducati’s new semi-active-suspension “Skyhook” Multistrada will arrive in December, which may give its dealers something to cheer about in the first quarter of 2013.
