Eugene Laverty Celebrates 25 years

Eugene Laverty, World Superbike Rookie, recently turned 25 years of age. To mark the special occasion Yamaha World Superbike Team together with official partner "Beta Tools", presented the rider with his own personalized tool box. Not only does the tool box mark this special occasion but it is also engraved with the Irishman's recent maiden double victory in his debut year in the World Superbike Championship. Beta Tools brand is a byword for quality and devotion in the racing world and their dedication is evident from the carefully produced and individualized special gift which marks an extraordinary stage in the rider's career at a significant date in his lifetime.

Laverty, from birth was always destined to be successful on two wheels. Due to his father's passion for motorcycles, Eugene was named after Irish legendary motorcycle racer Gene (Eugene) McDonnell, whose life was tragically claimed during the Isle of Man TT on 4th June 1986. Twins - Eugene and Eamonn, were born the previous day on June 3rd and as a tribute to his racing friend, Eugene's father decided to call one of his boys after the late McDonnell.

25 years later, while Ireland celebrates the anniversary of one racing legend, the country revels another motorcycle champion; Eugene Laverty and his successful debutant year in the World Superbike Championship where he delivered a sensational double victory in Monza, just less than a month before. Laverty has racing blood running through his veins. He first started riding a motorcycle at the early age of three and on a professional level in 2001, at the age of 14. Twice World Supersport Championship runner up, Laverty is now fourth in the WSB standings, contending for the title, with half the 2011 season yet to go.
