2009 Vespa LX Review

Intro

Piaggio introduced the Vespa LX back in 2006. This scooter comes in two slightly different models, the Vespa LX 50 and the Vespa LX 150. The key difference between the base models is engine size and the differences in weight, power, top speed, and fuel economy that go along with it.

With its lower center of gravity; its larger 11-inch front and 10-inch back wheels providing more control and agility; and newly designed ergonomic seat, which allows for correct body posture when engaging the controls, cruising around town on the Vespa LX 50 or hitting the highways on the LX 150, with its top speed of 59 mph, is a dream for the classic scooter enthusiast.

The 2009 Vespa LX sports an advanced mixed brake system for this model year, featuring a 7.8-inch front disc with hydraulic linkage and a dual opposed piston, hydraulic caliper and a 4.3-inch drum with mechanical linkage bringing up the rear.

Design elements on the 2009 Vespa LX are generally smooth and curvy, with the overall look of the scooter leaning toward a synthesis of 1950s and 1960s designs, coupled with some design elements of the 1970s models. The Vespa LX comes standard with passenger grip bars and a touring seat built for two riders. Available colors for the 2009 Vespa LX models include Capri Blue, Cortina Gray, Dragon Red, Midnight Blue, and Yellow.
