Despite costing 21 percent more than Suzuki’s swaggering 1,462cc C90 B.O.S.S., the sinister M109R B.O.S.S. delivers appropriately more engine capacity, performance, and bragging rights. While generally similar in style to the C90 B.O.S.S., the M109R breaks out with a big 1,783cc V-twin engine (22-percent larger), dual front disc brakes, and a much wider and lower-profile 240/40R-18 rear tire. Despite these upgrades, though, at 764 pounds, the M109R weighs less than 1 percent more than the 758-pound C90 B.O.S.S. Yeah!

Additional M109R B.O.S.S. advantages that might go unnoticed on the showroom floor include its DOHC cylinder heads and a higher compression ratio (10.5:1 versus 9.5:1 on the SOHC C90 B.O.S.S.), a racing-derived inverted fork replacing a conventional unit on the C90, a rangier wheelbase (67.3 inches versus 65.9 inches), and 18-inch wheels all around versus 17-inch front, 16-inch rear rims on the C90 B.O.S.S. So what’s it all prove? In the world of cruising, you get what you pay for in features, power, and panache. And the M109R B.O.S.S. has it all.

Likes: Huge cylinders meet exotic engineering.

Dislikes: Needs a bright LED headlight to go with that LED taillight.

Verdict: Suzuki's most audacious cruiser ever.
