2026 Kawasaki KLX300R First Look

The largest-displacement model in Team Green’s off-road-only KLX range is back for 2026.

It seemed like the KLX300R might not be around for 2026 given it wasn’t included in Kawasaki’s trail bike lineup announcement last summer, but the good news is that isn’t the case as Team Green recently unveiled the 2026 KLX300R. The largest-displacement off-road-only KLX doesn’t boast any mechanical changes for 2026, but is available in a new alternate color in the form of Bright White, which replaces Battle Gray that was available in 2024 and 2025.

The KLX300R has served as Kawasaki’s flagship trail bike since 2020.Kawasaki

The KLX300R is built around a semi-double-cradle steel frame and powered by a fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 292cc single-cylinder engine with a six-speed transmission and cable-actuated clutch. Suspension package consists of a KYB 43mm inverted fork adjustable for compression damping and a KYB shock tunable for spring preload, compression damping, and rebound damping. Full-size (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) wheels feature brakes similar in size to the KX250 motocrosser’s including a dual-piston front caliper and 270mm disc along with a single-piston rear caliper and 240mm disc.

With a $200 price increase over last year, the 2026 KLX300R stickers for $5749 and it’s scheduled to be on dealership floors in March 2026.
