Motorcyclist/Edelweiss Alps Challenge III Tour, September 8 to 17

I'll be traveling to the Alps this fall with my dad to take part in the third-annual Motorcyclist/Edelweiss Alps Challenge Motorcycle Tour. And you're invited to come along and ride with us! The dates are September 8 through 17, and the route Edelweiss honcho Werner Wachter has put together promises to be plenty challenging and seriously fun for the motorcycle rider looking for spectacular roads and scenery.

We'll start off in Munich, Germany, work our way south to Innsbruck, Austria, then head south again into the heart of the Italian Dolomites, where we'll hang for a rest day. Then it's east through the scenic Dolomites into Slovenia, where we'll stay at a wonderful ski resort/hotel in Kranjska Gora. From there we'll head north back into Austria and traverse one of the most famous and challenging Alpine passes in all the world—the Grossglockner—before finishing up back in Munich and its famous Bavarian beer gardens.

In all it's seven days of spectacular motorcycling, all with a handful of hard-core motorcyclists and magazine readers. Plus, we'll do a feature story in the magazine a month or three afterward. Prices range from $3290 to $4640 depending on the bike you ride and your accommodations.
