Team Suzuki To Compete This Year In MotoGP?

Suzuki MotoGP manager Davide Brivio confirms that the Japanese manufacturer intends to participate in the last MotoGP race of the 2014 season as a wildcard entry at Valencia.

While visiting the MotoGP paddock this weekend at Sachsenring for the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland in Germany, Team Suzuki MotoGP manager Davide Brivio has acknowledged that the Suzuki rider line-up for 2015 is still not decided but revealed that the factory plan is to field test rider Randy de Puniet as a wildcard rider at the 2014 Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana.

He stated, “We’ll have some more testing in the second half of the season, we will go to Mugello, to Aragon and then to Valencia and there is now an idea to participate in the last race as a wild card. We are discussing it internally, we’re getting ready for it, but we’re waiting for final confirmation from our management to be there or not.”

“We will have to test there after the race anyway with our 2015 riders, though we don’t yet know who they are. So it will make sense to race there during the weekend and it will be a gift for Randy de Puniet who is doing a good job for us during these two years. We can allow him to participate in the race and then it will be preparation for the after race test. But as I say we are waiting for the final confirmation.”
