Schuberth C3 and C3W | Gear Up

New Products

Schuberth's C3 has been available for years in Europe, but the lid touted to be the world's lightest and "quietest flip-front helmet," is now hitting U.S. shores. Featuring a shell made of S.T.R.O.N.G, the German-engineered lid brings a more compact shape than the previous C2. The new C3 (and its counterpart, the C3W for women) also offers an integrated sun visor and Pinlock insert as standard features. Inside, you?ll find a removable /washable Coolmax® liner, plus a snug neck roll to seal the bottom. The C3W features reshaped, memory foam cheekpads to fit the smaller facial features of female riders.

As to those `lightest/quietest' claims (1550 grams / 84 dB at 100 km/h, respectively), we'll see when we test it in a future issue. Meanwhile, the C3 is US DOT and ECE 22.05 certified, made in Germany and is available in two shell sizes, for (are you sitting down?) $699.99.
