2010 QLINK Legacy Review

Intro

This sporty cruiser, manufactured in China, arrives on a steel frame, with modern styling. It seats two-up on a leather seat. The passenger is treated to a grab rail and stock, stationary backrest. The driver sits just 26.7 inches from the pavement, making it a perfect beginner bike. Also a good match for the beginner is the Continuously Variable (CVT) transmission -- a little unusual for a cruiser type motorcycle – no need to shift this puppy, although it certainly takes some of the joy out of the motorcycling experience. It is great, however for those that have never been adept at the whole shift/clutch process. The power-plant is an 18 horsepower, liquid-cooled, 244 cc single cylinder 4 stroke SOHC engine, fueled by a Keihen carburetor.

With helmet storage, dash storage and a rear rack available, this bike could still use some extra. You will be looking for some aftermarket saddlebags or other storage. It has digital instrumentation, with fuel gauge and low fuel warning, clock, trip reset, speedometer, a tach and even a radio. The engine, transmission and radiator are completely covered with fairing and trim. No unsightly engine components on this ride.

Weighing in at a manageable 390 pounds, with 5.5 inches of ground clearance, this 44.3 inches tall bike is the perfect set-up for a teen or female rider. The 4.2 gallon tank gets you 75 miles per gallon and it uses regular – always a plus. At 86.6 inches long, with a wheelbase of 57.3 and 35.4 inches wide, turning and parking is a breeze. Because of its weight to power ratio, it has plenty of power to get you anywhere you choose to go.
