The Ultimate Motorcycle Trip Is Showcased As "Long Way Down" Premieres On Fox Reality Channel August 2

Get ready for the journey of a lifetime when "Long Way Down" makes its US television premiere on Fox Reality Channel, Saturday, August 2. In this ten episode series, Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman travel from John O'Groats, Scotland, to Cape Town, South Africa on motorcycles. Their course, over 15,000 miles, takes 85 days, crosses two continents, and is filled with innumerable adventures and challenges.

"Long Way Down" features two close friends on the ultimate motorcycle trip through distant lands unique cultures and some of the most impressive natural wonders in the world, while raising over $1 million for charities including UNICEF, Riders for Health, and CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland).

Fox Reality Channel is bringing the popular series to American audiences for the first time after its successful run as the #2 program on the BBC2 (UK) when it aired there last fall.

Synopsis:
In "Long Way Down," best mates Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman share their 15,000 mile motorcycle journey from John O'Groats (Scotland) through Western Europe and Eastern Africa until they reach Cape Town (South Africa). They travel through numerous countries including Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Namibia along the way, taking time to examine the various cultures and stopping to help with charity projects for UNICEF, Children's Hospice Association and Riders for Health. McGregor and Boorman mix their love of motorcycles with the irresistible lure of far flung roads for the ultimate expedition.
