Potential 2020 World Champion, 12-year-old Palmer Kling

Though he's no longer directly involved with the Red Bull Rookies Cup, 1993 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz [remains committed to grooming young racers for future glory. Last fall, we met one potential 2020 World Champion, 12-year-old Palmer Kling, at one of Schwantz's new "Lites" classes (see Track Time, page 102). The fantastically fast pre-teen passed our Editor-at-Large Aaron Frank too many times to count on his Moriwaki Honda MD250H, which wears Schwantz's #34. Kling put the lessons to good use a month later at the WERA Grand National Finals, winning the 125cc Grand Prix National Championship.
