When the AMA Supercross series rolled into Anaheim, California, this past January, motocross kids Derek Stein and Jack Phreaner lucked into pit passes that they wielded to gain access to Women's champ Ashley Fiolek. “She was really nice, and I have never seen anyone text that fast!” Derek reports. Yamaha’s Jim Perry then invited them to tour the JGR transporter. “I wasn’t expecting James Stewart to come in,” Derek adds. “I suddenly thought, ‘That’s one of the fastest people in the world on a motorcycle and he’s right in front of me!’ He gave us fist-pumps, and when he signed our shirts I promised myself I would never wash mine. But mom already did!”
