Long-Distance Motorcyclists Gear Up for Colorado Motomarathon

Endurance ride starts in Boulder, then loops out of Ouray August 26-29

Boulder, CO - July 12, 2010 -- The Colorado Motomarathon, set for August 26-29, will start at Mike's Motorcycle in Boulder, then loop out of Ouray to take in some of North America's finest twisty mountain roads in central and southern Colorado (and, just maybe, a long reach into southeastern Utah's curvy Canyonlands).

The four-day event will make the most of Colorado's high riding season, with an itinerary carefully designed by the Routemasters at Butler Motorcycle Maps. Routes and checkpoints are kept secret until the night before each leg, averaging approximately 400 miles per day. Participants must complete a series of self-recorded check-points using digital cameras to photograph their badge numbers at designated landmarks.

"The Motomarathon format has struck a nerve with today's sport-touring and long-distance riders," said Motomarathon Founder John Metzger. "We thank our members and sponsors for continuing to promote this highest form of motorcycle sport-touring."
