San Bernardino, Calif. - May 13, 2011 -- The Legends and Heroes of Motocross Tour has chosen Belgian motocross legend Stefan Everts as the latest recipient of their Legends and Heroes Award. The 10 time World Motocross Champion will be accepting the award in a special podium ceremony to be held at 2:20pm between motos at the 2011 Monster Energy Grand Prix of the United States.

The son of 4 time motocross world champion Harry Everts, Stefan got into motorcycling at a early age. Stefan took his first 125cc title at the age of 19, and went on to become the youngest World Champion in history in 1991. By the time he retired at the end of the 2006 season Everts had accumulated a record 10 World Motocross Championship titles, and 101 GP race wins.

The Legends and Heroes of Motocross Tour is a traveling museum display that was developed by a small group of dedicated motocross enthusiasts to preserve the history of the sport.
