Kawasaki's ZX-7R - Better Them Than Us

Better Them Than Us
For those of you who've ever wondered what magazines do when the idea well runs dry-the June 2000 issue of our cross-pond cousin, Performance Bikes, features a cover story entitled "How Low Can You Go?" or "a study of gravity-defying angles of lean and how to lob it trying." In other words, they sent editor Ronnie Smith out on a shiny ZX-7R (shod with Dunlop qualifying slicks) to circle counterclockwise on an airstrip until grip gave out and he fell off. What was surprising was how difficult it was for Smith to actually low-side the bike-but being a responsible journalist, the man eventually got his story.
