Editors Charity Challenge: Building a Bike for Charity

Presented by eBay Motors, the Editors Charity Challenge pits ten editorial teams to see who can build the best project vehicle. Natutrally, it will be our GSX-R.

Ten different teams of Primedia editors, including our own "Bipolar" Team from Motorcyclist and Sport Rider (we are creating a maximum-strength Suzuki GSX-R that will work on the street or track), the "Lane Splitters" from Hot Bike (converting a Harley police bike) and Dirt Rider (with a Honda), have each been allocated a $25,000 budget to buy a vehicle on eBay Motors, along with most of the parts needed to transform it into a worthy project vehicle. At the end of the project, each of the vehicles will be auctioned on eBay and the proceeds will go to a non-profit organization called Charity Cars.

The cornerstone of this project is a custom microsite that is located at www.editorscharitychallenge.com. The site introduces each of the teams, their vehicles and will chronicle each team's progress with their build over the coming months.

Surf around the site to get a feel for the personality of each team, their plans for their vehicle.... check out the message boards occasionally.... vote in the polls.... you can also read more about the challenge itself and the charity at the following two links:
