It's hard to believe that only three years have passed since the first Babes Ride Out started as "Babes in Borrego," with a relatively scant 50 attendees. Ladies rode from all over the US and Canada to join event founders Anya Violet and Ashmore Bodiford for a weekend of camping on a dry desert lakebed. The next year 50 riders became 500, and the third year 500 riders became 1200, with a fair amount of riders coming from all over the globe.

To accommodate some of those international travelers, this year Babes Ride Out has begun to expand to other countries, starting with Babes Ride Out UK. The event will take place this coming weekend, August 5-7, 2016 in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, presented by VC London. The event follows the same tenets of the original BRO: no dudes, no ‘tudes. There will be a raging bonfire, entertainment both nights of camping, free 805 beer and Sailor Jerry, and a beautifully lit barn to shelter riders/partiers in the event of rain.

Sponsors of the event include Triumph, Biltwell Inc., VC London, Stance, Red Wing Heritage, Rebels Alliance, ATWYLD, 805 Beer, Sailor Jerry, RVCA, Dark Arts Coffee, The Bike Shed, and VANS. If you haven't already bought your ticket (only 250 were available), you'll have to live vicariously via social media by those who will attend. If the rapid increase in interest for the Babes Ride Out events over the past three years is any indication, you'll likely have another chance to attend BRO UK next year. In the meantime, check out their other upcoming events, like the 4th annual installment of the original Babes Ride Out coming up in October here in the US. Visit babesrideout.com for more info.
