2012 Daytona Supercross scheduled for March 10

Daytona International Speedway to host only AMA Supercross race in Florida

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona International Speedway will be home to the only AMA Supercross event in Florida in 2012 when it hosts the historic Daytona Supercross on Saturday night, March 10.

Top riders such as two-time defending Daytona Supercross champion Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and Trey Canard will battle for victory on the tough and challenging course, which will be designed for the fifth straight year by five-time Daytona Supercross winner Ricky Carmichael.

Daytona International Speedway has been home to the original Supercross since 1971 - the longest continuous Supercross event in America - and stages the grueling and demanding race in the tri-oval.

Among the Supercross greats that have captured the Daytona Supercross include Bob Hannah, Jeff Stanton, Jeremy McGrath and Carmichael.

Grandstand tickets for the Daytona Supercross will go on sale Saturday, May 14. For ticket information for all Daytona International Speedway events, call 1-800-PITSHOP or go online to www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com.
