2010 Victory Motorcycles - Back In Black

Four new 8-Ball models round out the line

First Look
Victory Motorcycles unveiled its 2010 model line in high style at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Thankfully, they spared us the cartoon characters, instead using the futuristic, Frank Gehry-designed building as a backdrop to showcase some futuristic and cartoonish new models.

The big news, of course, is the addition of the two Core-based baggers we showed you previously ("Core Cruisers," Up To Speed, September). Prices have since been finalized: The fairing-equipped Cross Country will sell for $17,999 and the windshield-equipped Cross Roads for $15,999.

Also noteworthy is the broadening of the popular 8-Ball line. Joining the existing Vegas and Kingpin models are blacked-out, stripped-down versions of the Hammer power cruiser and Vision tourer. All get new seating positions this year, with lower saddles, pullback handlebars and more closely coupled foot controls to suit smaller riders. All but the Vision share Victory's venerable 100 cubic-inch (1634cc) engine with five-speed transmission producing a claimed 85 horsepower and 106 lb.-ft. of torque. The Vision goes one better with the new 106/6 Stage 1 engine, which churns out a claimed 92 bhp and 109 lb.-ft. of torque through a six-speed overdrive transmission. The Hammer 8-Ball will sell for $14,499, the Vision 8-Ball for $17,999.

At the opposite end of the spectrum are the glitzy Arlen Ness Victory Vision and Corey Ness Vegas Jackpot. Boasting custom paint schemes, numerous billet parts and autographed/serialized number plates, they're both priced at $24,999.

The last tidbit of interesting news is the availability of linked ABS (front alone, linked rear to front) on the Vision Tour ABS model as a $1000 premium. In a nod to hell-raisers everywhere, the Vision's ABS allows 30 seconds of burnout time before throwing an error code. Now that's what we call a Victory party!
