2008 QLINK XP Review

The 2008 QLINK XP 200 is a great dual sport motorcycle that is equipped with all the features and needs for a bike that is capable of traversing mountain trails or off-road tracks while at the same time fulfilling all the requirements to be street legal. QLINK is an emerging brand of motorcycle made in China. They have strong similarities with comparable Suzuki models and Japanese manufacturing.

The QLINK XP 200 is designed to be ridden by beginners and has an emphasis on safety. With that said, it uses a single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine with single overhead camshafts (SOHC) and has a total displacement of 199cc. This engine is capable of producing approximately 15.4 horsepower and 14.5 lb-ft of torque. This engine does not deliver a substantial amount of power but it is no scooter. Its engine delivers very smooth engine pulls with a quality amount of power. It five-speed manual transmission is very efficient at delivers the horsepower and torque to the wheel in a smooth and quite manner. The acceleration is nothing substantial but that is expected with a 200cc engine.

The suspension uses an inverted fork in the front with a twin sided swing arm and a single shock absorber in the rear. The seat is made from a vinyl material and is slightly harder than other seats. These two features combine to give a very vertical riding posture however this does not mean a high amount of wind blast while riding. The chassis is made from high quality steel to ensure minimal flexing while riding to make sure that the response is quick and the handling is tight. The bike also comes with an aluminum skid plate as well as front and rear fenders made from durable plastic. These features help protect the bike from the hazards of off-road riding.

The front brakes use a hydraulic caliper with a single disc and a drum mechanism in the rear. The front brakes are not substantially overpowering however the rear drum brake is very powerful, letting you completely lock the rear wheel if needed. The tires are made by Kingstone and provide all the necessary grip for both on and off-road riding. The 2008 QLINK XP 200 is a quality dual sport motorcycle and should be on the list of consideration when looking for a bike that is suitable for both beginning riders and those looking for an easy, safe bike to ride.
