2008 QLINK XF Review

Intro

The 2008 QLINK XF 200 is a Chinese made enduro style motorcycle. It is designed to have all the capability and power needed to ride off-road while still offering all the comfort needed for a street bike. The XF 200 is therefore completely street legal yet has all the features and most of the look of an off-road bike.

The QLINK XF 200 uses an air-cooled, single overhead camshaft (SOHC), four-stroke engine. It has a displacement of nearly 200cc and is fed it fuel supply by a Mikuni carburetor. This engine setup combines to produce approximately 15.4 horsepower and 14.5 lb-ft of torque at 8500 revolutions per minute (rpm). QLINK boasts its use of Suzuki technology for the engine design and Japanese craftsmanship for the carburetor. A close look of the engine and carburetor shows a striking similarity to those manufacturers, all strengthening the fact that this engine setup is very reliable. Even though the engine is reliable, it does lack a bit of power. When riding this bike to it limit, you’ll find yourself in fifth gear fairly quickly with the throttle revved to 8500rpm. This bike is reliable and quality craftsmanship but is not made for making record track times.

The suspension uses an inverted fork in the front with a single shock absorber and adjustable spring preload by use of dual locking rings in the rear. The front fork does not have any adjustment options however it does have a very unique gold finish on the legs, making for a very unique color scheme. The suspension gives the rider a good amount of comfort and absorption for both city riding and off-road racing. The suspension is also paired very well with the chassis to give tight handling and a responsive bike. The braking system uses a basic caliper in the font and drum brakes in the rear. This system provides ample braking power and the rear drum more than capable of locking the rear wheel.

QLINK is an emerging name in the motorcycle market and produces quality bikes at a fraction the cost of bigger names such as Honda or Yamaha. If you are looking for a reliable enduro style motorcycle then the QLINK XF 200 may be the bike for you.
