Sunoco Supreme 112 Will Fuel Season Of AMA Pro Flat Track Motorcycle Racing

There’s nothing like the smell of race gas!

Flat Track is grassroots racing at it’s finest, and is home to some of the most badass and hard-charging guys (and gals!) on two wheels. Nichole Mees leads the charge on her Harley Davidson.©Motorcyclist

The sights, the sounds, the smells! Besides the incredible spectacle of steel-shoed riders sliding sideways at over 100 mph and the chest-rattling sound of race engines at full throttle, the smell of race gas is one of the preeminent impressions for most spectators at an AMA Pro Flat Track event.

And thanks to a recent renewal agreement between AMA Pro Flat Track and Sunoco, race fans will be smelling the sweet scent of Sunoco Supreme 112 for another year. The leaded fuel is specifically designed for high-revving race engines with a compression ratio of up to 15:1 and it's one of the factors that allow the big-bike racers to reach up to 130 mph on the mile-long ovals.

The continued partnership between Sunoco and AMA Pro Racing means that GNC1 and GNC2 racers will have a shot at the $15,000 in cash Sunoco has put up as part of its “Go the Distance Award.” Cash payouts will be distributed to riders who accumulate the most race miles during the season. It’s a program that’s meant to encourage riders to compete in as many events as possible. That means more bikes on the grid, and more great racing for the spectators.

Ready to experience the sights, sounds, and smells for yourself? The 2016 AMA Pro Flat Track season kicks off with a doubleheader at the Daytona Flat Track event later this week. The twin short track races will take place at the "World Center of Racing" on Thursday and Friday, March 10 & 11.
