Following a superb opening ceremony inside the "Dakar village", located on the exhibition area in Buenos Aires, and a seamless technical approval, Team BMW Motorrad by speedbrain is looking forward to the start of the Dakar rally 2011.
Around one million enthusiastic people greeted the participants as they left the Argentinian capital towards Victoria to begin their south-american adventure. The first part of the two-day kick-off led the caravan over tarmac roads to the bivouac. Getting there safe and sound was the main mission of the day. Traditionally, the first kilometers of the Dakar are completed without timekeeping. All four speedbrain pilots are confident to make their mark during the next 12 days of racing. The atmosphere inside the team is excellent, all systems are go and everyone is ready to give his best.
The second part of stage one on Sunday will lead the field from Victoria to Cordoba. That is going to be the first race challenge with 758 kilometers of route altogether, 192 of them being a special test. The day starts with some fast sections, before things become undulating and somewhat tricky. The middle part of the stage will see seperate routes for the bikes and cars.
