Old-timers like to dismiss modern freestyle motocrossers by uttering some nonsense about Evel Knievel being twice the stud because he jumped an undersprung, iron-head Harley-Davidson XR750. Australian stunt-nutter Kain Saul answered such criticisms last fall in Sydney when he landed a backflip aboard a Harley-Davidson XR1200-believed to be the first successful attempt on a full-sized streetbike. Saul's bike was slightly modified with longer-travel suspension, and for good reason: American stunt rider Chuck Carothers attempted the same feat aboard a stock XR1200 the very next day in Prague in the Czech Republic, and was punted straight off the seat upon touchdown!
