Mert's Hands New Non-Profit Corporation
Mert's Hands is a new non-profit corporation founded upon the belief that disabled motorcyclist and bicyclist who have lost an appendage can regain normal mobility and independence in their chosen sport and everyday life. Specially made prosthetic devices attach to any vehicle that uses a handle bar and connects the rider to the vehicle. Mert Lawwill has been manufacturing prosthetic devices for disabled riders for over 10 years. During the last few years, numerous requests have been made from individuals that cannot afford these devices. Mert's Hands aims to provide these devices and services at discounted or no cost to qualified individuals. Lawwill's small manufacturing firm does not intend to profit from this collaboration, but only desires to cover the cost of manufacturing. Funds raised by Mert's Hands will be used for operating expenses and purchasing of devices at cost from Lawwill's manufacturing firm.
Mert's Hands intends to subsidize or donate prosthetic attachments to qualified, disabled riders and U.S. Military Service Members who have lost appendages and help them use the device to ride safely on their motorcycle, bicycle or snowmobile once again.
The first person to receive a subsidized hand was a gentleman from Kansas who was going to have to sell his truck to get one, but due to help from the Mert's Hands fund he now can ride his motorcycle once again.
If you can donate to Mert's Hands to help any of these people in need, please send your tax-deductable check payable to:
