The Art of Rebellion Gallery Night/Motorcycle Launch

Artists celebrate custom creativity for raw and elemental bike

Art Of Rebellion Gallery Night Flyer

WHAT: A band of low brow artists including Shepard Fairey will display what rebellion means to them with a gallery opening titled The Art of Rebellion. Ten artists will display a custom-painted Harley-Davidson gas tank in the event's theme - all to celebrate a coming out party for Harley's latest dark ride, Iron 883.

The event brings together two worlds that understand breaking ground, pushing limits, and self-expression.

WHY: The gallery of tanks as well as a piece from the artists own collection will be on display and available for purchase. Proceeds from the sales are going to Art Matters, a charity that supports and encourages the exploration of new ideas and art.

WHO: If there's anybody who understands self-expression, it's Harley-Davidson. Harley supports the efforts of those who break ground creatively and artistically. In fact, Harley knows these ideals so well, that they created a collection of motorcycles called Dark Custom for today's rebellious generation. Harley's latest bike, Iron 883, is a raw and elemental bike built for those with a fire that keeps burning.

WHERE/WHEN: Media will get a first look at the bike on February 6 followed by the public opening on February 7. Both events will be in Santa Monica, at the Robert Berman Gallery (2325 Michigan Ave.) from 7 p.m. to midnight. Wine and beer will be served and a DJ will handle mood control.

Shepard Fairey is designing a limited edition poster for this event and will be signing the first 100 copies.
