Extreme Motorsports Festival to Showcase Freestyle Stunt Bike Competitions for the First Time
Orange, CA (May 29, 2008) - HIN Events has announced a first time partnership with XDL, the only national stunt riding championship series in the U.S. The partnership will introduce the incredible sport of freestyle super bike stunt riding to motorsports enthusiasts at upcoming Boost Mobile Nightshift events in New York, Nashville, Pomona and Phoenix.
Stunt biking is the art of performing tricks while riding on a sport bike. XDL is the first institution to successfully organize it into a competitive sport. As seen on Speed Channel, NBC Universal's Telemundo and MavTV, XDL tournaments are invitation only and feature up to 30 of the country's best stunt riders who wow crowds while competing in categories such as Individual Freestyle, Target Stoppie, Sickest Trick, Tandem and Freestyle Burnout.
"We're really excited to be partnering with HIN," said Randy Grube, XDL President. "Nightshift will give XDL a more substantial footprint and help elevate the awareness of the sport to another level."
XDL was introduced in 2006 with a three-event series. The series grew to include four tournaments in 2007, and switched to a point-based system for its six-show series this year. In 2008, XDL will host four competitions at HIN Nightshifts and one in Indianapolis, IN at Moto GP, before ending the season with the XDL Finals in Long Beach, CA on November 8, 2008. Riders receive $10,000 in total prize money per tournament, plus points based on finishing order. Points are tallied at series end to determine the National Champion.
At every tournament, fans can expect to see awe inspiring performances from favorites such as Aaron Colton, who was only 15 years old when he took the 2006 national title, 2007 National Champion Alex Flores, Darius Khashabi, Chris McNeil, Kane Friesen, Dan Jackson, Ernie Vigil and Nick Apex, just to name a few.
