KTM RC16 MotoGP Project and Motorex Technical Partnership

By no means limited to racing, the long-standing and successful cooperation of Motorex and KTM touches many areas of business. The best example is the fact that the KTM plant in Mattighofen uses Motorex products to fill up all new motorcycles it produces. However, the two companies' racing partnership is the logical extension of their close cooperation in R&D and of the potential for development that racing offers to them. That is why Motorex never hesitated to join KTM for the adventure of MotoGP. "Wherever KTM is racing, Motorex supports the Austrians – that also goes for the development of the RC16", comments Bucher-Motorex Group CEO Edi Fischer on their commitment. "Our participation in the development process is invaluable for the further development of our very own product range."

Moto2 rider Tom Lüthi, who has been supported for many years by Motorex, now had the opportunity to experience the potential of the KTM MotoGP factory racing machine. The Swiss racer was able to join KTM test rider Mika Kallio for the latest tests of the RC16 on the Italian GP track of Mugello and get an impression of the bike on which factory riders Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro will compete for the world championship in 2017. Lüthi was duly impressed: "Despite its awesome power, it is hard to believe the amount of control you have on the KTM! Testing with Mika was an absolute blast." KTM's next MotoGP tests are scheduled for mid-July on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg – the very track where the RC16 was rolled out in October of 2015 and where the KTM MotoGP factory team will be officially launched in August at the Grand Prix of Austria.
