Cypress, CA (October 26, 2011) - Monster Energy Kawasaki and Vans' motocross team rider Ryan Villopoto closed out a historic 2011 season that included the AMA Supercross Championship, the AMA Motocross Championship and the Motocross of Nations Championship by capturing the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas on October 15 and the largest payday ever in the sport at $1 million dollars.
Vans has proudly supported Ryan since his days as a 13-year-old amateur right up to his dominance on the professional circuits. With just two years under his belt on the big bikes, we look forward to 2012 with more wins wearing his number one jersey and two new Ryan Villopoto-endorsed shoe releases in January: the Vans Ruark and the Vans Fontana. Celebrating Ryan's success, each shoe is accented in Ryan's green, yellow and blue race kit colors as well as Ryan's signature artwork and number so everyone knows who you're pulling for on race day.
Ryan's sponsors in addition to Vans include Kawasaki, Monster Energy Drink, Thor, Volcom, Oakley, Alpinestars, Incipio, Parts Unlimited and Falken Tires.
Joining Ryan Villopoto on the Vans motocross team are Jake Weimer and 2011 Lites Motocross Champion Dean Wilson and 2011 West Lites Champion Broc Tickle plus Josh Hansen, Tyla Rattray, Blake Baggett all in support of the famed Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Racing Team.
